V. Simmons, 54, of West Monroe, were held at the Friendship Church near Sikes, Saturday, May 14, with the Rev. L. O. Waldon, the Rev. Troy Tisdall, the Rev. Leroy King, and the Rev. Florence Bennett officiating. Burial was at Mineral Springs under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro. Pallbearers were K. C. Simmons, Pearce Simmons, Earl P. Sawyer, Marvin Crain, and Fred Tucker. Mrs. Simmons is survived by her husband and four sons, Grady Simmons of Sikes, Edgar and Shelby Simmons of West Monroe, and Roy Simmons of Shreveport; four daughters, Mrs. R. M. Crain, Mrs. Adrian Berry, and Aleta Simmons of West Monroe, and Mrs. Fred Tucker of Sikes. Three brothers, Reuben, Lewis, and Ruel Parker, all of Dodson, Rt. 1; three sisters, Mrs. Louisia Tullos and Mrs. Earl K. Sawyer of Shreveport, Mrs. J. H. Parker of Rayville; and sixteen grandchildren.
