Pvt. N. W. Simons Killed in Action On Peleliu

Wilbur Simons of Sikes has been notified by the war department that his son,
Pvt. Norman W. Simons, age 20, with the United States infantry, was killed in
action October 26, 1944, on Peleliu Island, Palau Island.

Besides his father, he is survived by one brother, Pvt. J. W. Simons,
stationed at Camp Robinson, Ark., and one sister, Miss Bonnie Elaine Simons,
Sikes.

Pvt. Simons entered service August 9, 1943, at Camp Beauregard and later
trained at Camp Adair, Oregon.  He was transferred overseas in August this
year.
