Earl Gibson officiating. Burial was in Ogden Cemetery. Mr. Simon died Friday night, October 13, 1972 in the Franklin Parish Hospital after a long illness. He was the eldest son of the late Marion and Mary Thompson Simon, former residents of Sikes, having moved with his family to Franklin Parish some 65 years ago. He was a retired farmer and cattleman and a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow; three sons, Roy Simon and Marion Simon, both of Shreveport, and Blanchard Simon of Raceland; five daughters, Mrs. Katie Kemper and Mrs. Garland Kemper, both of San Bernardino, Calif., Mrs. Bonnie Thompson of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Doris Guzman of Fayetteville, Ark., and Mrs. Geraldine McGiffin of Anaheim, Calif.; two brothers, Clarence Simon of Winnfield and Monroe Simon of Winnsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Smith and Mrs. Nancy Nugent, both of Winnsboro; 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, including a niece, Mrs. Bessie Martin of Route 2, Winnfield.
