Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Southern Funeral Home with the Rev. Willie James officiating. Burial was in the Dother Cemetery near Sikes. Mr. Simons was a sawmill worker and a native of Sikes. Survivors are five sons, J. W. Simons of Winnsboro, Ernest Simons of Monroe, Jimmie Simons of Lockport, and Frank Simons and Wesley Simons of Sikes; a daughter, Mrs. Bonnie Edwards of Belle Chasse; three brothers, Pierce Simons of Chatham, Norvell Simons of Sikes, and Louis Simons of Clarks; four sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Holden of Dodson, Mrs. Lela Thompson of Sikes, Mrs. Ony Wise of Montgomery, and Mrs. Lurie Moreland of Rayville; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
