William Sharon Simmons Mr. and Mrs. W. V. Simmons of Route 1, Dodson, were notified by the War Department on March 16, that their son, Pfc. William Sharon Simmons, 19, had been killed in action in Germany on March 2. Pfc. Simmons, a graduate of the Gaars Mill High School, entered the armed forces April 18, 1944, and received his training at Camp Robinson, Ark., Leonardwood, Mo., McCoy, Wis., before going overseas Nov. 1, 1944. He served in England, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany. Pfc. Simmons has one brother in service, Cpl. Edgar Simmons, at Ft. Benning, Ga.; three other brothers, Grady of Sikes, Ray of Shreveport, and Shelby of Route One, Dodson; four sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Crain, Mrs. Avis Tucker, Oleta and Nellie, all of Route One, Dodson.
