F. Singletary In Shreveport Funeral services for Archie F. Singletary, Sr., 83, who was a resident of Winnfield most of his lifetime, but moved to Shreveport three years ago, were held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, November 6, 1966 in the Osborn Funeral Home Chapel in Shreveport. Burial was in Centuries Memorial Park. Acting as pallbearers were J. W. Fleshman, William Crow, Chester Derr, W. L. Walker, J. M. Rains, and Manning Naquin. Officiating at the last rites were the Rev. Gerald Trussell, pastor of the Southside Baptist Church, and the Rev. Bobby Anderson, pastor of the Ford Park Baptist Church. Mr. Singletary, a native of Sugartown, La., was a 1941 graduate of Louisiana State University and spent his early career as agriculture instructor in Louisiana schools. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lula Love Singletary; three sons, Archie F. Singletary, Jr., and Dr. Ben B. Singletary, all of Shreveport, and Charles L. Singletary, Seattle, Wash.; and two sisters, Bell Singletary and Tamar Singletary, both of Oberlin.
