Mrs. Ruth Skains Succumbs July 2

Mrs. Ruth Hogan Skains, 43, died at her home in Gorhamtown (now Joyce)
Thursday afternoon, after a long illness.  Funeral services were held Sunday
afternoon at the Gorhamtown Baptist Church with Rev. Alwin Stokes and Rev. W.
D. McDaniel officiating.  Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery under the
direction of Edmond's Funeral Home, Jonesboro, La.

Mrs. Skains was born in Lincoln Parish in 1899.  She married the late Howard
Skains in January, 1919.  At the time of her death she was a member of the
Gorhamtown Baptist Church.
