J. R. Skains, Contractor, Dies Thursday

James R. Skains, 56, of Winnfield, died Thursday, August 15, 1974 following a
lengthy illness.

Mr. Skains was a retired building contractor in Winnfield.  He had served in
that profession for 25 years at the time of his retirement.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Southern Funeral Home Chapel
with Luther Raine and Stuart Ford officiating.  Burial was in the Garden of
Memories Cemetery in Winnfield under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Addie Mae Skains; one son, Ronald Skains of
Winnfield; one daughter, Mrs. Carrie Franks of West Monroe; _______ brothers,
R. D. Skains, Jr., of Winnfield, ____________ Skains of Montgomery; one
sister, Mrs. Nettie Pardens of Winnfield; and one grandson, Jeffrey Franks
of West Monroe.

Pallbearers included Doyle Peters, Tim Price, John Price, Don Price, William
Price, John Richardson.
