W. P. Skains, 57, Native of Winn, Buried Thursday

Funeral services for W. P. Skains, 57, native of Winnfield, who died at his
home in Ferriday, Wednesday, June 16, 1948, after several years illness, were
held in Ferriday, Thursday morning.  Burial and last rites were scheduled to
be held in East Winnfield Cemetery Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock with Rev.
Alwin Stokes assisting with the services.  

Mr. Skains, who left Winnfield 27 years ago, has been a contractor in Ferriday
since that time.  He is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Skains, Sr., of
Winnfield.

Surviving are his wife, the former Frances Dowden, and four brothers, Byron,
Luther, Vester, and R. D. Skains, all of Winnfield.
