Funeral services were held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, in the First Baptist Church, with Rev. Thomas Cox officiating. He was assisted by Rev. J. Harold Smith and Dr. W. L. Holcomb. Interment was in Zion Hill Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Mrs. Smith was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winnfield. She is survived by five sons, Clyde C. Smith, Marshall B. Smith, Esley Smith, P. K. Smith, and Hardy Smith, Jr., all of Winnfield; five daughters, Mrs. Ruby Long, Winnfield; Mrs. Wardell Carson, Ft. Worth, Texas; Mrs. Vaudie Hudnall, Alexadria; Miss Clotile Smith, Winnfield; and Mrs. Vernita Moore, Winnfield; also, one brother, Lawrence Fox of Alexandria; three sisters, Mrs. Lena Adams of Dodson; Mrs. Arrie Price and Mrs. Etha Peppers of Dodson; 22 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Charles Smith, Perry Jo Smith, Carroll Long, James Hardy Smith, Benny Smith, Perry H. Smith, Gerald Long, and Mike Smith.
