R. Clark, Winnfield, May 12, 1969. Final rites were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Temple Baptist Church of which she was a member in Winnsboro, La., and the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Winnfield, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Alson Jeter, Rev. E. B. Barton, of Winnfield, and Rev. Sledge of Winnsboro officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Born in Covington, Miss., March 18, 1886, Mrs. Smith spent her childhood in Winn Parish. She is survived by six sons, Van Martin, Winnfield, Edgar Hatten and Ralph Hatten, Columbia, La., L. J. Hatten, Gulfport, Miss., Joe Hatten, Winnsboro, La., Cass Hatten, Florida; four daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Williams, New Orleans, Mrs. Bertie Simmons, Vicksburg, Miss., Mrs. Gladys Cole, Jackson, Miss., and Mrs. Minnie Posey, Winnsboro. She also leaves two brothers, Jeff Jordan, Route 2, Winnfield, and Breland Jordan, Sikes; and one sister, Mrs. Della Wilcoxan, Monroe, La.
