Mrs. R. P. Smith Succumbs; Rites Held March 29

Cora Ann Smith, 82, of Sikes, died at 10 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 1968 in a
Winnfield hospital.

She is survived by her husband, R. P. Smith of Sikes; four sons, A. O.
McCartney and David F. McCartney, both of Alexandria, I. J. McCartney of Olla
and Julian McCartney of Winnfield; a brother, Jesse Young of Shreveport; three
half-brothers, W. E. Young and O. L. young, both of Orange, Texas, and W. O.
Young of Georgetown; three half-sisters, Mrs. Gladys Nugent of Pollock, Mrs.
Obie Mobley of Dry Prong, and Mrs. Rhoda Jones of Phoenix, Ariz.; five
stepsons, W. R. Smith, Gene Smith, Clarence Smith, Joe Smith, and Dan Smith;
three stepdaughters, Ora Smith of Sikes, Mrs. Henry Townsend of Joyce, Mrs. R.
L. Medford of Texas; 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and a host of
step-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday in Southern Funeral Home by Rev.
Ernie Yocum.  Burial was in Georgetown Cemetery.
