Mrs. Pennie Blake Smeltzer, 40 years of age, of Saline, La., succumbed at a Jonesboro Clinic, September 21, 1941, following an illness of three or four weeks. Funeral services were held at Yankee Springs, September 23, with the Rev. R. B. Kitchingham of Dodson and the Rev. N. T. Smith of Calvin, officiating. Interment was in the Yankee Springs Cemetery. Surviving are the husband, Floyd Smeltzer and four children, Lacy, Eddie, Seleety, and Cherry, all of Saline, La.; six sisters, Mrs. C. B. Carter, Rt. 4, Winnfield; Mrs. John Martin, Natchitoches; Mrs. M. Durbin and Mrs. Charlie Dean, Rt. 1, Goldonna; Mrs. Lon Williamson, Cullen, La.; and Miss Puella Blake, Pineville, La.; six brothers, J. M., P. J., and T. H. Blake of Cullen, La., G. I., T. C., and W. R. Blake, of Rt. 1, Goldonna; and by her mother, Mrs. Rilla Blake of Goldonna.
