Aunt Nesa Smith, Native Of Winn, Dies Suddenly

Mrs. Pernesa Allen Smith, wife of the late Will Smith and daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Allen, pioneer citizens of Winn Parish, residing on
Highway 84 East, suddenly passed away at her home Wednesday, June 2, 1971
about 7:00 p.m.

Mrs. Pernesa, better known as Aunt Nesa, was born January 11, 1882.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. F. M. Cox of Plain Dealing, and a host
of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted in Southern Funeral Home Chapel by Brother
Grafton Shaw, retired Methodist minister, June 4, 1971 at 10:30 a.m.

Pallbearers included Dewey Allen of Karnack, Texas, Lazelle Allen of
Winnfield, Frank Cox of Plain Dealing, Arthur Oliver of Port Arthur,
Charles Kay Allen of Baton Rouge, and Howard Smith of Bastrop.

Aunt Nesa was a lifelong member of Lewis Chapel Methodist church and spent
most of her life in Ward 2, Winn Parish.
