Hardy Smith, Jr., 60, of Winnfield, died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 1983
in Humana Hospital.

He was a native of Winnfield, a member of First Baptist Church and a board
member for the Radio Bible Hour of Orlando, Florida.  He was president of H.
H. Smith Enterprise.

Survivors include his wife, Maude Smith of Winnfield; one son, James Hardy
Smith of Winnfield; three daughters, Ada Mae Rutledge, Betty Jean Chandler,
and Cindy Clark, all of Winnfield; one brother, Clyde Smith, Sr., of
Winnfield; three sisters, Ruby Long, Clotile Smith, and Vernita Moore, all of
Winnfield; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Calvin
Phelps and Rev. Charles Haley officiating.  Burial was in Garden of Memories
under direction of Southern.
