Mrs. Smith, 79, Dies; Burial At Zion Hill

Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine B. Smith, 79, of Jonesboro, were held at 2
p.m. Saturday in Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro with the Revs.
Willie James and Bill Fuller officiating.

Burial was in Zion Hill Cemetery at Tannehill for Mrs. Smith who died
Thursday, October 28, 1976 in Jackson Parish Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Survivors include her husband, Joe W. Smith of Jonesboro; one son, Jimmy
Joe Smith of Jonesboro; three stepsons, Altno Smith of Sikes, Alvin Smith and
Mervin Smith, both of Matagorda, Tex.,; one daughter, Mrs. Billy Underwood of
Jonesboro; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Pauline Artego of Bossier City; one brother,
Joseph Buchan of Winnsboro; one sister, Mrs. Sina Page of Delhi; and nine
grandchildren.
