Funeral Services For Sikes Woman Held on Saturday

Mrs. J. N. Smith, age 84, died at her home in Sikes Friday of last week
following a long illness.

Funeral services were held the following day, Saturday, August 21, at the
Friendship Baptist Church and interment was in the church cemetery.  W. S.
Emmons conducted the final rites.

Survivors include her husband, J. N. Smith; one son, J. F. Smith of West
Monroe; three daughters, Mrs. Lena White and Mrs. Ola Gaar, Dodson, and Mrs.
H. L. Cheeks, Jonesboro; three sisters, Mrs. Z. Z. Pepper, Mrs. Mary Simmons,
of Sikes, and Mrs. Alice Branch, Montgomery; 12 grandchildren and 12 great
grandchildren.
