Rites For Mrs. Smith Held At Mars Hill

Mrs. Frances Smith, 58, of Verda, died Saturday, June 4, 1977 in a Shreveport
hospital.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Mars Hill Baptist Church with the
Revs. Wayne Spears and Kenneth Tarver officiating.  Burial was in the church
cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Surviving are her husband, Elmo Smith of Verda; four sons, Jimmy Smith of New
Orleans, Gene Smith of Baton Rouge, Joe Smith of Winnfield, and Jon Smith
of Verda; two brothers, C. M. Box of Shreveport and Roy Box of Bentley;
two sisters, Mrs. Effie Durham of Tioga and Mrs. Omera Taylor of Verda;
and seven grandchildren.
