Former Pastor Of Winnfield Church Dies

Last Rites For Rev. Ellis Smith Held In Houston, Texas

News was received here Monday of the death of the Rev. Ellis Smith in Houston,
Texas, following an illness of several months.  Rev. Smith was about 73 years
of age and during the years 1933 and 1934 served the First Methodist Church in
Winnfield as its pastor.

From the Winnfield Church Rev. Smith went to Abbeville as pastor.  He had been
active until the first of this year.  Funeral services were conducted in
Houston Tuesday of this week.
