Smith, 84, Succumbs; Rites Friday Funeral services for Mrs. Emma J. Smith, 84, of Winnfield, were held at 11 a.m. Friday at Big Creek Baptist Church at Jordan Hill, where she was a member, with the Revs. Jackie Aymond and Hardy Beaubouef officiating. Burial was in Jordan Hill Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home here. Mrs. Smith, a native of Winn Parish, died at 10 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 1971 at Winnfield General Hospital after a long illness. Survivors include her husband, J. R. Smith; a son, Julius L. Smith; six daughters, Mrs. Viola Maloy, Mrs. Henrietta Keen, Mrs. Mary Belle Womack, Mrs. Jimmy Lasyone, Mrs. Jewell Broadway, all of Winnfield, and Mrs. Pearl Riley of Tullos; two brothers, Archie Jordan and Houston Jordan; three sisters, Mrs. A. C. Maxey, Mrs. Wesley Jenkins, and Mrs. Lottie Smith, all of Winnfield; 26 grandchildren, and 40 great grandchildren.
