Smith Dies; Rites To Be Thursday Grady William Smith, 64, of Winnfield, died Wednesday, October 23, 1974 at 5 a.m. in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Southern Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Jackie Duplechain, Rev. Calvin Phelps, and Rev. Jimmy Yocum officiating. He was a school bus driver for Winn Parish School System, a member of the United Baptist Church, and of the Georgetown Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Thelma W. Smith of Winnfield; two sons, Glen E. Smith and Aubrey L. Smith, both of Winnfield; three daughters, Mrs. Julius Barton of Winnfield, Mrs. Pauline S. Steele of Crowley, Mrs. Dorasteen S. Steele of Ferriday; three brothers, Murray Smith, Dan Smith, both of Winnfield, Lloyd Smith of Dodson; one sister, Mrs. Ocie Machen of Winnfield, and 10 grandchildren. Pallbearers included Alon Gregory, Vernon Keen, Frank Smith, Frank Adcock, Gene Keen, Drew Williams, Julius Crawford, and Charles Machen.
