Zion Former Resident of Verda Community Dies At Home in Reisor Funeral services for Griffin Smith, 74, a former resident of Verda, who died at his home in Reisor, Monday, February 4th, were held on Saturday at twelve o'clock at Mt. Zion Cemetery. The Rev. B. F. Wallace, pastor of the Highland Baptist Church conducted the services, followed by Masonic ceremonies with the Rev. Alwin Stokes in charge. Mr. Smith was born September 16, ____ near Montgomery and lived the ___ part of his life in and around the Verda community until a few years ago. He was a member of the Baptist church and the Verda Masonic Lodge. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. R. M. Dunn of Pineville, Mrs. F. J. Reisor of Reisor, Mrs. ____ James of Charleston, Miss., Mrs. Leonard Lyons of DeQuincy; a son, Goode Smith of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Milton and ___y Smith of Colfax and Miss _____ Smith of Pineville.
