Smith, 70, of Tyler, Texas, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Kilpatrick Funeral Home chapel in Monroe with the Rev. Raymond Howe officiating. Burial was in Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe. Mr. Smith died Saturday, December 6, 1975 at Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler, Texas after a short illness. A Sikes native, he was retired from Commercial Solvents Corporation. He was a Methodist and Masonic Lodge member. He was a Woodmen of the World and a member of the Shrine organization. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Vera Smith of Tyler, Tex.; a son Dudley J. Smith of Tyler, Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. Lena White and Mrs. Odie Caar, both of Dodson, and Mrs. Arie Rentz of Kilgore, Tex.; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers were Frank L. Allen, King W. Overton, B. L. Pylant, O. S. Robbins, Ed. H. Tillman, and James C. York.
