News of Death of John Smith Received

News was received here of the death of John Smith, 96, in a Pineville
hospital, Dec. 28.  He was buried Dec. 30 at Ruby, La.

Mr. Smith was a nephew of the late Leonard Smith of Winnfield and was a first
cousin to Houston Smith and P. K. Abel of Winnfield, and an uncle of Dr. R.
Houston Smith, who is pastor of the First Baptist Church in Pineville.
