M. At Home In Sikes Oldest Citizen of Parish Paid High Tribute At Services Wednesday John Smith, in his 99th year, died at his home at Sikes Tuesday morning. He was a native of Winn Parish and lived his entire life in the Sikes community. His passing yields the place of oldest citizen of Winn Parish to his sister, "Aunt Ann" Campbell of Winnfield. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at three o'clock at the Mineral Springs Church and burial was in the church cemetery. Judge Cas Moss and W. T. Norman conducted the services and paid high tribute to the life of "Uncle John" the oldest member of one of the pioneer families of this section. "Uncle John" in his active years engaged in farming and stock raising. For the past ten years or more the birthdays of the three surviving members of the family, "Uncle John", "Uncle Perce", who died about a year ago, and their sister, "Aunt Ann" Campbell were celebrated jointly in August each year with an all day meeting of relatives and friends at the Mineral Springs Church. Surviving him are two sons, Pete W. Smith and Bob Smith, and two daughters, Mrs. Beulah McCarty and Miss Janie Smith, all of Sikes; one sister, "Aunt Ann" Campbell, who resides with her son, J. W.
