Brother of Ellis Smith Dies In California

L. C. Smith, 55, passed away Friday, March 31, at his home in Eureka, California.

Military funeral services will be held Friday, April 7, at 2 p.m. at Hixson
Brothers Funeral Home in Alexandria. Burial will be in the National Cemetery
in Pineville.

He is survived by his wife; one son, L. C. Smith, Jr., of Eureka; four
daughters, Misses Dale and Charlene Smith of Eureka; Mrs. Lynette Morris, Mrs.
Shirley Mayo, of Jena; two brothers, Ellis Smith of Winnfield and Robert Smith
of Manchester, New Hampshire; two sisters, Mrs. Donzie Owens of LaMarque,
Texas, and Mrs. Violet King of Shreveport, and 11 grandchildren.
