Rites Held Saturday For Mrs. M. Smith At Mt. Zion Church

Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Dean Smith, 55, of Shreveport, who died
Thursday afternoon of last week were held at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev.
John Caylor, pastor of the Highland Baptist Church, officiating.  Interment
was in the Mount Zion Cemetery at Montgomery.

Mrs. Smith is survived by two sons, J. T. Smith, Henderson, Texas, and N. D.
Smith, Shreveport; four daughters, Mrs. L. C. Hazen, Sarasota, Fla., Mrs. V.
W. Bachus, Rodessa, Mrs. Lenore Newsom, of Washington, D. C., and Mrs. E. F.
Neeley of Shreveport; one brother, Lee Dean of Montgomery, and two sisters,
Mrs. Jack Armistead, both of Shreveport; and six grandchildren.
