Jasper D. Smith Laid to Rest at Couley Friday P. M.

Jasper D. Smith, 63 years of age, died at his home at Curry last Thursday, May
17, at 11:40 o'clock.  Born in Winn Parish and a resident in the home where he
died for thirty-seven years, Mr. Smith was well known and counted scores of
friends in this parish.  Funeral services were held at the Couley graveyard
Friday afternoon at three o'clock with the Rev. Henry Lewis in charge.

The deceased is survived by his widow, two sons, Judge and Jay Smith of Curry;
one daughter, Mrs. Duby McPherson, Zenoria; two brothers, W. G. Smith,
Winnsboro; and John Smith, Curry; and one sister, Mrs. William Dunn, Curry.
