Funeral rites for Miss Rosalie Smith, 77 year old Winnfield woman, were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Southern Funeral Home chapel with Elder Woodrow Wilson, Elder R. J. Wade, and Rev. Glyn Mixon officiating. Burial was in Zion Hill Cemetery near Winnfield. Miss Smith died Thursday, February 22, 1968 in a local hospital following a short illness. She was a lifelong resident of Winn Parish and a retired phone operator. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of the Southern Bell Telephone Company. Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Lonie Smith, Mrs. C. W. Fox, and Mrs. Bessie Mercer, all of Winnfield; one brother, P. B. Smith of Winnfield, and one half sister, Mrs. Ivy Wyatt of Jonesboro.
