Funeral For Mrs. T. J. Smith Held Thursday

Mrs. Tibitha Jane Smith Is Buried At Beech Creek Thursday Morning, Aug. 4

Funeral services for Mrs. Tibitha Jane Smith, 67, who died Wednesday morning,
were held Thursday morning at the Beech Creek Church.  The Rev. Alwin Stokes,
pastor of the Presbyterian Church, officiated.  Burial was in Beech Creek
Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith was the mother of six children, five of whom survive.  They are: R.
M. Caldwell, Houston Smith, Mrs. Tom Hamm, Mrs. B. B. Turner, and Mrs. D. D.
French of Winnfield. One brother, George Tullos, and a granddaughter, Lilly
Mae Davis, and fourteen grandchildren of Winnfield survive.

The wife of the late Samuel Green Smith, Mrs. Smith had lived in Winn Parish
about thirty years, and in Winnfield since 1920.  She resided at Beech Creek
and at Joyce before coming to Winnfield.  She was a member of the Union
Baptist Church at Joyce.  She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John
Tullos of Jackson Parish.
