Smith Of Sikes, Succumbs Funeral services for Dr. Charles W. Smith, 63, pastor of the Church of God at Ruston and a former physician, were held in Ruston Wednesday. Dr. Smith died of a heart ailment at a Monroe clinic. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery at Ruston. Dr. Smith was born March 2, 1879 at Sikes, the son of John F. Smith, who is now 98 years old and still resides at Sikes. Following his graduation from the Memphis Medical College, he did graduate work at Tulane University, later practicing medicine for many years. In the more recent years he has been a pastor of the Church of God. Surviving are his wife, the former Clara Fletcher of near Winnfield; his father, John F. Smith of Sikes; a son, F. F. Smith, English teacher at la. Tech, and a daughter, Florine, a senior at Tech. He also leaves two brothers and two sisters, P. W. Smith, Bob Smith, Mrs. R. E. McCarty, and Miss Jane Smith, all of Sikes.
