Smith Funeral services for Julius P. Smith, 68, retired Winn Parish farmer, were held Friday at 2 p.m. at Hebron Baptist Church. He died Thursday about 12:15 a.m. of a heart attack at his home here. Mr. Smith was a lifelong resident of Winn Parish and was born about eight miles east of Sikes. He was a member of the Hebron Baptist Church for more than 21 years. Officiating at the funeral were Rev. Lewis McDaniel, Rev. Louis Holt, pastor of Old Union Baptist Church, and Rev. W. C. Elmore, pastor of the Laureh Heights Assembly of God Church. Burial was in Hebron Cemetery under direction of Edmonds Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Josephine Thompson Smith; five sons, Lawson and Homer of West Monroe, Clayton and Floyd of Beaumont, Texas, and Doyle, now in Italy; one daughter, Mrs. Pete Mayes of Sikes; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Active pallbearers were Alvin Pepper, Alon Smith, Clarence Thompson, Odis Pepper, R. D. Smith, Overton Deville. Honorary pallbearers were A. T. Dean, Herbert Bass, Pete Richardson, Fred Roark, Bob Mills, H. A. Alderman, and S. G. McDaniel. No. 2 Julius P. Smith, 68, retired Winn Parish farmer who died Thursday at his home in Sikes. Rites were conducted by Rev. Lewis McDaniel, Rev. Louis Holt, and Rev. W. O.
