Mrs. Smith, better known as Grandma to the younger set, was 77 years and 4 days of age. After a short illness caused from a cold, her dear tired sould slipped out to an eternal rest. She became a Christian early in life and lived a beautiful example of loving Christian faith and kindness. Grandma Smith had been married 49 years and leaves a family of sturdy sons to mourn her death. She leaves her husband, John Smith, three sons, Jim, Charlie, and Willie; a number of grandchildren; two nieces, Mrs. R. Porter and Mrs. Jap Smith, together with a host of friends to mourn her passing. The remains were placed in the Union Cemetery at Joyce, Wednesday afternoon. The many friends extend to the family their heartfelt sympathies in this dark hour of sadness.
