Last Rites Are Held For George Sanders Friday

George Sanders, 41 years of age, resident of Olla, died Thursday, April 29,
1937 in the Veteran's Hospital at Alexandria following a brief illness of
pneumonia and other troubles.  Mr. Sanders was a member of a highly esteemed
family of Dodson, a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, a World War
Veteran, a member of the American Legion, and had a splendid record in army
service.

Mr. and Mrs. Sanders and family resided in the Dodson area a number of years
and have a host of friends in this parish who regret to hear of his passing.

Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Edwina and Jane, of Olla; his mother,
Mrs. Ada Sanders of Shreveport; four sisters, Mrs. Aris Branch of Shreveport,
Mrs. W. C. Cookston of Winnfield, Mrs. A. L. Terrel of Dodson, Mrs. S. R.
Aycock of Robeline; three brothers, Dewey Sanders of Jonesboro, Tom Sanders of
Monroe, and Arnold Sanders of Olla.

Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at the Dodson M. E. Church
with Rev. G. A. Morgan of Winnfield, assisted by Rev. James Horton of
Shreveport, Rev. C. J. White of Hodge, and Rev. Hebert of Monroe in charge.

Interment was in the Transport Cemetery.

The following acted as pallbearers: D. E. Sikes, Clayton Taylor, Wiley
Hammons, Jim Dark, Eugene Beck, and Kenneth Watts.

Brother of Mrs. W. C. Cookston Dies at Base Hospital Tuesday

George Sanders, of Dodson, died in the Base Hospital, Alexandria, Thursday
morning, April 29th, as a result of pneumonia.

Funeral services will be held some time Friday at the Transport Church north
of Dodson.

Mr. Sanders was employed in the dipping program in this parish.

Surviving are his wife and two daughters; his mother, Mrs. W. S. Sanders, two
sisters, Mrs. W. C. Cookston of Winnfield and Mrs. S. R. Aycock of Mansfield;
three brothers, Tom of Monroe, Arnold of Columbia, and Dewey Sanders of
Jonesboro.
