C. H. Haley and Rev. J. B. Blaney officiating. Burial was in Corinth Cemetery near Winnfield under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro. Mr. Smith died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 1977 in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. A native of Winn Parish, Mr. Smith was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include five sisters, Mrs. George Schmidt and Mrs. V. G. Adams, both of Hodge, Miss Lela Smith, Mrs. Roscoe Bice, and Mrs. Sam Collins, all of Winnfield; a number of nieces and nephews.
