Snow, Sr., At Verda Sept. 9 John W. Snow, Sr., 54, died at 1 p.m. Sunday in a Baton Rouge hospital. He was a resident of Verda and was an employee of the Olin-Matheson sawmill in Winnfield. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucille Snow, a son, Robert Snow of Fort Knox, Ky., 11 daughters, Mrs. Marie Engles, Mrs. Norman Freeman and Mrs. Bobbie Reynolds, all of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Elizabeth Waxley of Montgomery, Mrs. Johnnie Tate of Tyler, Texas, Mrs. Betty Slaight of Oak Ridge, Ore., and Misses Hazel, helen, Sandra, Sherry, and Kay Snow, all of Verda; his mother, Mrs. Alice Williams of Shreveport; and 17 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Verda Baptist Church with Reverends Deloy Shows, Dick DeBusk, and James Ganey officiating.
