All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** >From the December 26, 1947 Winnfield News-American Charley Sookul, 62, Well-Known Local Resident Succumbs Tailor and Locksmith Here For 25 years Is Buried Tuesday Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Winnfield Cemetery for Korinara (Charley) Sookul, 62, well known here for 25 years as a tailor, gunsmith, and key maker. Interment was under the direction of the Southern Funeral Home. Mr. Sookul, who was ill for only a few weeks prior to his death, died at 5 a.m. Friday. He is survived by his wife, a brother, Andrew Sookul of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Shoomer of Denver, Colo. He was laid to rest beside his daughter, Aldonza Sookul, who was killed in an automobile accident several years ago. (Submitted by Greggory Ellis Davies, Winnfield, Winn Parish, LA.)
