Harvey Sowers, 14, Dies at Winn Ph. Clinic Saturday

Harvey Sowers, fourteen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sowers, who lives
near Dodson, died at the Winn Parish Clinic early Saturday morning following
an attack of appendicitis.

The youth was stricken Tuesday morning and although the appendix had already
ruptured, it was believed that an operation might save him and he was brought
to Winnfield.  The operation was performed at once and a blood transfusion
given Friday night.  He seemed to rally for a while but then grew weaker and
died soon after midnight.

The body was taken to the home community for burial.

Harvey is survived by his father, his stepmother, and several brothers and
sisters.
