Walter Lee Speed, Sr., Claimed By Death Friday, Jan. 27

Walter Lee Speed, Sr., age 54, died at his home near Winnfield Friday, January
27, 1950, after a long illness.  Funeral services were held Sunday at 3 p.m.
at the Laurel Heights Latter Day Saints Church with the Rev. Gilbert Connor
officiating.  Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery.

Acting as pallbearers were Melvin Connor, Beverley Taylor, Horace Speed,
Willard Speed, Henry Hodge, and Carol Grice.

He is survived by his wife and ten children, six daughters, Mrs. F. C. Hand,
Mrs. Clyde Howard, Hollis, Edith Nell, and Ruth of Winnfield, and Mrs. M. F.
Huey of Eros; four sons, Walter, Jr., and Wallace of Winnfield, James and
Veldon of El Paso, Texas; two brothers, Ross and Raleigh of Ferriday, La.;
four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Cantrell and Mrs. Bell Grice of Winnfield, Mrs.
Sudie Sheets of Monroe, and Mrs. Ethel Floyd of Waterproof.
