G. Spence, 78, Former Joyce Resident, Dies Funeral services for D. G. Spence, 78, of 1015 Delhi in Bossier City, who died Friday, May 12, 1972 in Schumpert Hospital, were at 2 p.m. Sunday in First Baptist Church of Bossier City. Officiating was the Rev. John Warner, associate pastor. The body was sent to Tulsa, Okla., Monday for burial services in Memorial Park Cemetery there. Mr. Spence was born in Elk Creek, Mo., and was a former resident of Joyce, but had resided in Bossier City for the last two years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Tremont Lumber Co. He was active in Masonic work until his retirement. Survivors include his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Martha Schumaker of Brunsville, Minn., Mrs. Mabel Olmstead of Delta Junction, Alaska, and Mrs. Robbie Hacker of Norman, Okla.; two brothers, Johm M. Spence of Omaha, Neb., and the Rev. Homer Spence of Farmersville; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Herman Hines, Robert Hines, Don Ware, C. C. Killingsworth, J. H. Kyzar, Clyde Stovall, Glenn Richards, and the Rev. Jimmy Eppinette.
