Last Rites For Ella J. Spikes Held At Mars Hill

Mrs. Ella Josephine died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. B. Drewett, in
Montgomery January 8, 1953, at 11 p.m.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. January 10, 1953, in the Northside
Baptist Church in Montgomery with Elder Horace Weaver officiating.  Interment
was in the Mars Hill Cemetery.

The deceased was born in Grant Parish and was 85 years, 10 months, and 24 days
old at the time of her death.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. H. B. Drewett, Mrs. C. L. Lemoine,
Alexandria, Mrs. E. W. Church, Salina, Kansas, and Mr. J. B. Welch, Dry Prong.
She also leaves 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of
Winnfield.
