Aug. 3 Tom Spillers, age 68 years and 8 months, died at the home of his nephew, Ed Spillers, in Laurel Heights, Wednesday, August 3, following an illnes of several weeks duration. Funeral services were held by Elder Spencer of the Church of Latter Day Saints at the Winnfield cemetery where interment was made at four o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Spillers was born in Wnn Parish and later moved to Caldwell Parish where he was engaged in farming until a few years ago he moved to Winnfield where he has resided since. His wife who before her marriage was Miss Lizzie Davis of Caldwell Parish died about a year ago. They had no children. Out of town relatives attending the funeral Wednesday were Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Williams and children, Don and Jewl and George, of Georgetown, and Miss Thelma Hatten, of Columbia.
