P. Spillers July 16 Funeral rites for W. P. Spillers, 59, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Spillers of Atlanta, were held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 16, at Atlanta Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Teal officiating. Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery near Atlanta under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro. Mr. Spillers died at 4 a.m. July 14, 1965 in a Shreveport hospital after a brief illness. He was a mechanic and a member of the Atlanta Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, William P. Spillers of Shreveport and Allen R. Spillers of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Rita Davis of Shreveport and Mrs. Beverely Phipps of Atlanta; one brother, Clyde Spillers of Chicago, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. Carmen McLain, Mrs. Gladys Bandy, of Atlanta, and Mrs. W. S. Ates of Lansing, Mich.; and nine grandchildren. Pallbearers were Ashton Collier, Ed Shumake, Tritus Ferguson, Prentice Ferguson, Herbert Mixon, and J. W. Barr.
