Grandfather of Local Residents Died in Downsville, La.

John W. Spurlock, grandfather of Mrs. W. E. Price and Mrs. H. D. Rockett of
Winnfield, died at his home in Downsville, La., on September 21.  Funeral
services were held at Mt. Nebo Church on Monday, September 22, with the Rev.
McGuire of Downsville officiating.  Interment was in the Mt. Nebo Cemetery
under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Mr. Spurlock had been a resident of Downsville for 55 years.  He was active in
Methodist Church work and civic enterprises and was a member of the Masonic
Lodge.
