Dr. Hugh Stennis Killed Jan. 15 Near Abeline, Tex.

Friends in the area will regret to learn of the death of Dr. Hugh Stennis,
physician of Abilene, Texas, who was killed on January 15 by a hit and run
driver, near Abeline.

Dr. Stennis was the son of the late Judge Sam Stennis, a former law partner of
Judge R. W. Oglesby, in the early days of Winnfield.  Judge and Mrs. Stennis
were residents of Winnfield for a number of years, and Mrs. Stennis will be
remembered as Miss Jeannie McLeese, native of Ruston and secretary in the
office of Oglesby & Stennis, here.

Dr. Hugh Stennis was also the nephew of John C. Stennis, U. S. Senator of
Mississippi.
