J. Stewart, 80, Is Buried At New Hope July 24 Thomas Jefferson Stewart, 80, a resident of the Hudson community, died in a Winnfield hospital Friday night, July 22, 1960. He was a retired farmer and had been in ill health for some time. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the New Hope Methodist Church with Dr. W. L. Holcomb and the Rev. Grafton Shaw officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Acting as pallbearers were James Vines, Wiley Putrell, Garland Sanders, Woodrow Adams, Leonard Rhymes, and Guy Berry. Survivors include a son, Leonard Stewart of Hudson; two daughters, Mrs. Grady Hammett, Lake Charles, Mrs. Leonard Willis, Alexandria; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
