All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: September 13, 1951 Winn Parish Enterprise Last Rites Held For Millie Agnes Stevens Sept. 12 Funeral services for Miss Millie Agnes Stevens, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Stevens, were held at the Couley Methodist Church September 12, 1951, at 2 p.m. The Rev. A. N. Baum and the Rev. Mrs. Lula Wardlow officiated at the last rites. Miss Stevens, who was active in church work and community affairs, was born in Grant Parish August 4, 1893, and passed away at the Baptist Hospital, Alexandria, September 11, at 2:20 a.m., after a lengthy illness. In the year of 1901 the Stevens family moved to Winn Parish where they have since resided. Active pallbearers were Loon Wyatt, Andrew Jones, J. N. Fletcher, Ed Mitchell, W. S. Gilcrease, and Cornelius Ferguson. Miss Stevens is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ettie Nugent, Alexandria, and Mrs. Flo Owens, Baton Rouge; and three brothers, J. Cheston Stevens of the Couley community, Crawford H. Stevens of Colfax, and Jesse J. Stevens of Atlanta, Ga.
