W. Stewart John William Stewart, 77, of Winnfield, died at the Clinton Infirmary of Clinton, La., Tuesday, February 11, following an illness of one month. Funeral services were held from the family residence in Winnfield Wednesday and burial was made in the Winnfield Cemetery. Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Winnfield conducted the services. Mr. Stewart was born in Arkansas March 19, 1870, and moved to Louisiana when a small boy. He married Lula Walker of the Hudson community November 7, 51 years ago. They have made their home in Winnfield for a number of years. Surviving are his wife; two sons, J. M. Stewart of Clinton, La. and H. R. Stewart of Jackson, La.; one daughter, Mrs. W. B. Breitung of Clinton, La.; two brothers, T. J. Stewart of the Hudson community and Joe Stewart of Dodson; two grandsons, Bobby Stewart, who is attending LSU and Max Stewart of Pal, Wyoming.
