M. Smith Last Rites Were Held At Douglas Cemetery Near Ruston Death claimed Mrs. Lemilia Minerva Smith, 78, at her home here November 24. Although she had been in ill health for some time her condition was not known to be serious. Funeral services were conducted at the Ephesus Primitive Baptist Church near Ruston Friday with Elder H. Phillips of Monticello, Ark., in charge. Interment was in the Old Douglas Cemetery near Ruston. Mrs. Smith was a native of Lincoln Parish but had been residing in Winnfield since 1907. She was the widow of the late Isom M. Smith. Surviving are a son and daughter by a former marriage, C. M. Clay of Winnsboro and Mrs. J. M. Wyatt of Wyatt, La. Six children survive by her marriage to Mr. Smith. They are Mrs. Bessie S. Mercer, Miss Sosalie Smith and Miss Lonie Smith of Winnfield; J. B. Smith of Atlanta and P. B. Smith and Mrs. C. W. Fox of Tannehill. She also leaves three stepchildren, Mrs. Jasper Boyett of Tannehill, W. M. Smith of Winnsboro and H. H. Smith of Winnfield. Mrs. Smith became a member of the Ephesus Primitive Baptist Church in 1890.
