Stinson Henry W. Stinson, 66, lifelong resident of Winn Parish, died suddenly August 11 at his home in Winnfield from a heart attack. Mr. Stinson had been in ill health for several months. In 1925 he became office manager for the Southern Mineral Co., which position he held until 1930 when he became payroll and personnel manager for the Carey Salt Company here, which position he held when he retired last year. At the time of his retirement he was one of the oldest in point of service of any Carey employee at the Winnfield plant. Mr. Stinson was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a Mason. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church August 13, 1956, with the pastor, Dr. W. L. Holcomb, officiating. Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Acting as pallbearers were W. H. Camerson, A. F. Tracy, J. M. Thornton, J. B. Tully, Floyd Main, W. O. Ridgon, W. D. Simmons, and J. L. Maxey. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Illa Lucas Stinson, Winnfield; one son, Lt. Commander H. W. Stinson, Jr., New Orleans; one daughter, Miss Louise Stinson, Houston, Texas; two grandchildren, five brothers, Arthur Stinson of Arizona; Earl Stinson of Shreveport; Frank Stinson of Verda; Morgan Stinson of Kaplan; and Walter Stinson of Jonesboro; four sisters, Mrs. Pearl Robinson of Danville; Mrs. Eveline Burt, Mrs. Lillian Doyle, and Mrs. Mary Stewart, all of Meridian, Miss.
